Computer Science Education Week starts Monday!

posted Dec 2, 2017, 5:36 PM by Tori Mazur

Students can click on our Hour of Code website to find this year's theme of "Coding the Machines" and a variety of robot-themed coding options. Hour of Code (tm) is a worldwide event during Computer Science Education Week in which students participate in computer science activities.  Ephesus students will take their coding skills to the next level with physical computing. Every classroom will have hands-on experiences as they visit the multi-purpose room for an hour of challenges with robots that encourage creativity and collaboration.

Grades two through five also have a link in an Hour of Code folder in Seesaw.  We encourage families to explore these resources together and talk through the thinking involved in the challenges with their children.  These resources are web-based and therefore available on any internet-connected device.  Some will load faster than others.  Some are also available as mobile apps.  Please check your devices "store" for availability.  Feel free to create an account for your child at home so they can continue their computational thinking journey beyond an hour.
