Important Message About EOGs

posted Mar 23, 2017, 6:08 AM by 311 Ees

The end of grade tests (EOGs) are scheduled as listed. We realize that these dates surround the Memorial Day Holiday, which is unfortunate.

  • May 26 - reading
  • May 30 - math
  • May 31 - science (5th grade only)

Please note that NC law states that EOGs must be taken within the last ten days of the school year. While most students will complete the assessments as scheduled, some will need more time over multiple days, which causes us to schedule sessions right up through the end of the school year. Additionally, we cannot start testing earlier for some students than others, which means everyone has to begin on May 26.

We will not be able excuse absences for educational opportunities on any of the testing days.

We appreciate your understanding as we work to assess our students and comply with state law. Should you have individual questions about how this may impact your family, please email Mrs. Creamer at vcreamer@chccs.k12.nc.us.

Additionally, we will be closed for spring break from Monday, March 27 through Friday, March 31. The main office will not be open and teachers will not be available by phone or email.

We hope you have a wonderful week off from school and we look forward to seeing your children again on Monday, April 3.
