First, this is a busy week at Ephesus. We will host a parent meeting for information about gifted programming on Tuesday, November 10 at 6:30 PM in the media center. We will not have childcare available, but your children are welcome to join us and remain in your care during the event. Our School Improvement Team (SIT) will also meet this week on Thursday, November 12 from 5:30-7:30 PM in the media center. As per North Carolina state law, the first half hour this meeting will be a closed session to discuss our school crisis plan. It will then be open to the public from 6:00-7:30 PM. Attending is a great way to stay informed about school policy and involved in your child's education.
Second, please note that school will be closed on Wednesday, November 11 in observance of Veteran's Day. We hope your children enjoy this mid-week break.
Third, Nurse Michele Hawkins has scheduled three meetings for the Healthy Roadrunner Committee this year. The dates are listed on our website. The group will work on health and wellness plans and events for our school community. If you are interested in joining, please contact Nurse Michele in the main office.
Fourth, the student council is organizing a canned food drive from November 9-20. Please consider donating non-perishable food items during this time to help local families throughout the holiday season.
And finally, kudos to Ms. Neff and Ms. Partain's classes for winning our recent PTA Box Tops competition. As a school, we raised over $600 for instructional supplies. We look forward to our next collection after winter break.
