Principal's Message for 12/11/17

posted Dec 18, 2017, 10:19 AM by 311 Ees

Some announcements for the week of December 11.

First, please check your children's Monday folders for their mid-quarter progress notes on Monday. They are yours to keep and as always, if you have questions about your child's progress, please contact the classroom teacher.

Second, we are excited to host the Scholastic Book Fair this week! Please check it out in the media center.

Third, I hope you will join us on Wednesday from 6:00-7:30 PM for Literacy Night. The event will include sessions related to writing about reading, phonics instruction, vocabulary instruction, and online learning platforms. The evening will conclude with Ms. Creamer and Dr. Sutton reading a bedtime story while students enjoy milk and cookies. The book fair will also be open and we encourage all of our students to wear their jammies!

Fourth, the School Improvement Team (SIT) will meet this Thursday from 5:30-7:00 PM in the multi-purpose room. In addition to regular reports, the team will also discuss recent information about district facilities. As always, SIT meetings are open to the public and I encourage you to attend.

And finally, if you are interested, the email and website version of this message contain a link to an article about cultural competency during the holiday season.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message. Please follow Ephesus Road Elementary on Facebook and @EphesusElem on Twitter. Please also check out our website for volunteer opportunities. I hope you have a great week!
