Principal's Message for 12/5/16

posted Dec 3, 2016, 11:55 AM by 311 Ees

Some announcements for the week of December 5.

First, please check your email or your child's backpack on Monday for the appropriate grade level's monthly newsletter.

Second, we are excited to host our annual book fair this week. It will be open Monday-Friday with extended hours on Thursday evening. We will also host Literacy Night on Thursday from 6:00-7:30 PM. Families are invited to attend information sessions about NC's Read to Achieve Law, annual assessments, promoting writing about reading at home, and rigorous read aloud text discussions. Ms. Sutton and I will read bedtime stories as the students enjoy milk and cookies, too. I encourage you to attend and I encourage all students to wear their pajamas!

Third, we have a delayed opening this Thursday, December 8. Students may arrive at school between 9:25 and 9:50 AM. We appreciate your understanding that this is valuable professional development time for our staff and we cannot provide adequate supervision prior to 9:25.

And finally, the PTA is hosting spirit nights at Moe's at Patterson Place Dec. 7-10. We will send you either an electronic or paper coupon on Monday. If you eat at Moe's and turn it in, we will receive $3 from every meal purchased.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message. Please follow Ephesus Road Elementary on Facebook and @EphesusElem on Twitter. Please also check out our volunteer opportunities. I hope you have a great week!
