Principal's Message for 5/1/17

posted May 1, 2017, 10:27 AM by 311 Ees   [ updated May 1, 2017, 10:27 AM ]

Some announcements for the week of May 1:

First, this is teacher appreciation week and Ms. Sutton and I want to take a moment to thank all of the staff members at our school for the positive impact they have upon our students, our greater community, and the education profession. We hope you will also take a moment to thank them for working with your children.

Second, we are looking to fill two parent seats on our School Improvement Team (SIT) for the 2017-18 school year. Please see this link for more information. We will also send paper copies home on Monday with those families who have requested them.

Third, did you know that May is Mental Health Awareness Month? At Ephesus, we have many supports for the social/emotional growth of our students, including weekly core instruction for character education and classroom guidance lessons. We also have more targeted supports for students who need them. If you would like more information about programming, or about resources in our community, please contact our school counselor, Ashley Sherman at asherman@chccs.k12.nc.us or our school social worker, Marne Meredith, at mmeredith@chccs.k12.nc.us. We also hope you'll wear green on Thursday to recognize mental health awareness.

And finally, we still need proctors for our EOGs. Please contact Ms. Sutton if you are able to volunteer your time.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message.  Please follow Ephesus Road Elementary on Facebook and @EphesusElem on Twitter. Please also check out our website for volunteer opportunities. I hope you have a great week!
